The Acjachemen - First People of the San Onofre Coast

Join Rebecca Robles, Acjachemen/ Juaneño tribal member, culture bearer, and direct descedent of Panhe village in San Mateo Valley and Pat Martz, Distinguished Professor of Archeology and Founder of California Cultural Resource Preservation Alliance, as they bring to life the story, culture and history of the Acjachemen people.

Who were these first people who lived and thrived in this special coastal zone and sacred valleys of what is now San Onofre Coast for more than 9,000 years? What was the lifestyle? How did their world evolve? Might they have been the first to ride the gentle waves of San Onofre? Who are they now? Hear their story today as their community and legacy is celebrated through a spirit of honor and respect.

Special guest will perform traditional storytelling, music and song!
