In this month’s edition of The Achievers Show, we will be focusing on how these entrepreneurs and leaders started their journey from rock bottom, redefined the odds and rose to the top by achieving massive results in their lives. We will be exploring on how they overcame the barriers and challenges that arises from choosing to walk the path of an entrepreneur.

Kent Chua

Kent Chua is the Co-Founder of Rhombus Connexion, which oversees over 10 notable brands such as Suzie Wong, The Beer Factory, Dancing Fish and Rama V. With over 30 outlets across 5 countries, generating an annual revenue of over RM80 million.

At 24 years old, Kent Chua left his role as a senior Auditor in Deloitte Malaysia to venture and start out his first business – The Beer Factory. The experience garnered by Chua from his auditing days allowed him to make key business decisions which led to The Beer Factory making back all of its capital in only 6 months!

Today, Kent Chua has grown his business from a single business model out to venturing out in a number of F&B lines under the group Rhombus Connexion, with ventures all over South East Asia. Dubbed as the “Next Gen F&B Entrepreneur”, Kent Chua has also won multiple awards, including Top 10 Malaysia: Young and Dynamic Entrepreneur, being named as Malaysia’s 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneur in 2016 and is also a proud receiver of the Prestige Top 40 Under 40 Young Achiever Award in 2013.

Melvin Poh

Melvin Poh is an Investor and the Founder of The Asian Entrepreneur, a publishing company and global knowledge platform that aims to capture and provide access to the collective business knowledge of Asia. In his earlier years, Melvin started off life dedicating himself to be a full time corporate lawyer. He later on discovered a great passion for entrepreneurship and business which naturally culminated in the birth of The Asian Entrepreneur.

Today, Melvin has grown The Asian Entrepreneur to be the world’s most authoritative digital platform on Asian Entrepreneurship. This global publisher works together with an aggregate network of 600+ authors around the world and has worked together with notable stakeholders such as UNESCO, Harvard University, WHO and a number of government from The United States, Korea, Dubai and Malaysia. Throughout his lifetime, Melvin has also received a number of notable accolades including being recognised on the Forbes’ 30 under 30 2019 List and by Harvard University for his achievements in the Asean region.

Jazz Tan

Jazz is the CEO and Founder of YouthsToday. A social platform created to bridge the gap between event organisers and brands to students and young professionals. With a personal mission to inspire youths so that they can contribute back to society and the economy, Jazz formed YouthsToday back in 2013 as a marketing platform to help event organisers reach a mass audience.
