Join curator Leonard Marcus for an insider’s look at the making of The New York Public Library’s landmark exhibition, The ABC of It: Why Children’s Books Matter. Leonard will discuss the challenges he faced in putting together a show that draws on all the library’s special collections to present three centuries of books for the young in the context of the world history, the arts, and popular culture.
Leonard Marcus is one of the children's book writer's leading historians and critics. He is the author of over 20 award-winning books including Minders of Make-Believe, Dear Genius, Show Me a Story!, and Randolph Caldecott: The Man Who Could Not Stop Drawing. He reviews children's books for The New York Times column, and for The Horn Book. He is the curator of The New York Public Library's exhibition, The ABC of it: Why Children's Books Matter.

Event details: Doors open at 7.15pm. Seating is limited to the first 70 people.
