Event description

Description

For the sixth year, Women’s Agenda is hosting an exclusive lunch on October 5 to announce the winners of the Leadership Awards and celebrate emerging female talent.

Enjoy a two-course meal at a stunning location, and celebrate women’s leadership success.

Tickets to this event sold out in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 so get in quick!

You will leave this event feeling inspired, and connected to a range of smart, savvy people.

We have an excellent line-up of panellists and speakers to talk about leadership including:

Senator Kristina Keneally: Senator Kenneally has served as a Senator for New South Wales since February 2018, representing the Labor Party. She previously served as Premier of New South Wales from 2009 to 2011, the first woman in the role, and is a former primary school teacher, television host, CEO of Basketball Australia and board director across numerous organisations.

Sandra Sully: Sandra is a Journalist and a much-loved and well-known news reader with Channel Ten. She is a Senior Editor with Ten News, and Managing News Editor, Ten Daily. She presented Ten Late News for two decades, including memorably covering the 9/11 attacks.

Dr Neela Janakiramanan: Neela is a reconstructive plastic surgeon who spends most of her time playing with power tools to fix hands and wrists, while accidentally teaching, mentoring, writing, and fighting the patriarchy. Neela is a regular Women's Agenda contributor who has penned some of our most talked about opinion pieces of the year.

Dr Kirstin Ferguson: Kirstin is a leading company director, Chair of the Leadership Awards Judging Panel, #CelebratingWomen founder and author of Women Kind. She is an independent, non-executive director with experience on ASX100, ASX200, private company, not-for-profit and government boards, a former CEO of Sentis, and former senior executive with the international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright. She began her executive career as an Administration Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force after graduating Dux of her Air Force graduating class at the Australian Defence Force Academy. You can read our recent profile on Kirstin here.

Alex Blackwell: Alex is a former Australian cricket captain who led her country to World Cup and Ashes victories. She is the first woman elected a director of Cricket NSW, and a head cricket coach with Lancashire in the KIA Women’s Super League. After putting aside a career as a medical doctor to pursue cricket, Alex went on to enjoy working as a genetic counsellor in the rapidly changing world of prenatal and preconception genetic testing. Alex played a pivotal role in the recent negotiations that saw cricket as a sport achieve a groundbreaking gender equitable pay model for female athletes. Alex was named an inaugural Patron of ACON’s pride inclusion initiative Pride in Sport.

Join these inspiring women and many more guests, finalists and judges at the Leadership lunch of the year.

This is your opportunity to applaud the winners, hear from a number of inspiring female leaders, and network with judges, finalists and the Women’s Agenda community.
