The Event

Please join us for the 4th Annual ride to celebrate the incredible lives of our dear friends Pete & Monica Zucker and to support the Pete Zucker Foundation http://www.petezuckerfoundation.org/

Founded by Pete and Monica, The Pete Zucker Foundation raises money for research and builds awareness of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), a devastating progressive terminal disease that affects the body's voluntary muscles, including the respiratory system.

These annual rides are a major fund raiser for the Foundation and the best way we can think of to honor the legacy of Pete & Monica, both beloved members of the cycling community. As an additional fund raiser, we are excited to announce "The For Pete's Sake Cycling Kit" available at http://shop.jakroo.com/For-Petes-Sake The Kits are only available online and all proceeds go to the Foundation. Order early and wear it with pride!

Registration

Registration is only $75 with all proceeds going directly to the foundation. Registration will open at 6:30 AM

The Rides (All Levels Welcome)

All rides will leave from 6Fifteen Cyclery, 3430 Camino Tassajara in Danville. To ensure there is a ride for everyone, we have planned four routes for different levels and abilities.

The 90 Mile Road Route - 7:30 AM Start

We’ll head north on Blackhawk Rd. towards Mt. Diablo State Park / Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd. We’ll take that to the Junction where we’ll take a moment to reflect on the loss of our friends Pete, Monica and Lynden Mclaughlan. From there we’ll descend North Gate Rd. towards Walnut Creek and then over to Ygnacio Valley Rd. From there it’s Ygnacio Valley Rd., Marsh Creek Rd. and then up Morgan Territory Rd.

There will be a rest stop in the park at the top of the Morgan Territory Climb. Refreshments & bathrooms will be  available.

We’ll then descend Morgan Territory Rd. and head into Livermore via Manning and N. Livermore Ave. in Livermore. We’ll snake through Livermore via the old HOP Route until we get to Vineyeard.

Along the way we’ll pass Sycamore Grove off of Wetmore Rd. While not manned there are restrooms available.

We’ll take Vineyard across into the Town of Pleasanton where we’ll snake through to Pleasanton Sunol Rd. which we’ll take south to Niles Canyon Rd. and into the Town of Sunol.

As we enter the Town of Sunol The Sunol Glen School will serve as the second manned rest stop with drinks & refreshments. Bathrooms are available at the Sunol Train Station.

We’ll exit town via Kilkare and Foothill Rd. which we’ll take that all the way back Greenbrook Dr. in Danville. We’ll take that over to Sycamore Valley Rd. / Camino Tassajara back to 6Fifteen Cyclery.

The 55 Mile Road Route - 9:00 AM Start

Like the 90 mile group, we’ll head north on Blackhawk Rd. towards Mt. Diablo State Park / Mt. Diablo Scenic

Blvd. We’ll take that to the Junction where we’ll take a moment to reflect on the loss of our friends Pete, Monica and Lynden Mclaughlan. From there we’ll descend North Gate Rd. towards Walnut Creek and then over to Ygnacio Valley Rd. From there it’s Ygnacio Valley Rd. Marsh Creek Rd. then up Morgan Territory Rd.

There will be a rest stop in the park at the top of the Morgan Territory Climb. Refreshments & bathrooms will be  available.

We’ll then descend Morgan Territory Rd. but at the bottom we’ll go right and take Manning, Carneal and Highland to Camino Tassajara. From there it’s a right on Camino Tassajara and it’s a straight shot back to 6Fifteen Cyclery with only Mt. Finley between you and the big party.

The 30 Mile route - 10:00 AM Start

The 30 mile riders will exit the start zone and go right on Camino Tassajara down to Highland Rd. We’ll take that across to Manning / N. Livermore and into Livermore. A little way past the 580 Interchange we’ll go right on Portola Ave. We’ll then take that to Collier Canyon to Highland to Camino Tassajara and back to e6Fifteen Cyclery.

Mountain Bike Route - 10:30 AM Start
Monica loved Mt. Diablo and mountain biking so we thought we would have a mtn. bike loop. On this ride we'll head up Dan Cooke to Curry Point. From there we'll head down to and up Blackhawk Ridge to Oyster Point Trail down to Findley Rd and home.

Post-Ride Festivities

After the rides there will be: a delicious Mexican Buffet; plenty of adult beverages; tons of raffles & giveaways and lots of laughs. It’s all happening out front of 6Fifteen Cyclery from noon until 6 PM. It will be a great way to recover, reflect and share memories with fellow riders.
