Event description

Description

Have you ever wondered how children within the same family growing up under the same conditions can have completely different outcomes for future success? This training might help clarify the answers to some of your
questions. Participants will recognize the powerful correlation between achievement, positive relationships with peers and adults, social competence and emotional intelligence and how youth that are missing those are more likely to become of victim of commercial sexual exploitation (CSEC). At every turn the research supports that the more assets a kid has in place the more likely they are to be successful. In a time when parents, educators, policy makers, and community members are struggling to address the pressing concerns of youth and commercial sexual exploitation, the asset-building approach offers renewed hope and energy for a positive future.

Recommended for: anyone who works with children and youth including social services professionals, health professionals, educators, parent groups, law enforcement, juvenile justice professionals, child advocates, community-based organizations, faith community members, elected officials, policy makers, after-school program professionals, concerned citizens
