About this event
The Refugee and Asylum Seeker Initiative (RAHI) at UCSF is pleased to invite you to its third annual UCSF/ZSFG Refugee Health Symposium: Forced Displacement During COVID-19.
This virtual symposium will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM PST. Full agenda will be sent out in the coming weeks.
The UCSF/ZSFG Refugee Health Symposium brings together refugee health experts across disciplines in an annual opportunity to discuss current issues and ongoing research in refugee health. Each year, the Symposium focuses on major current themes in forced displacement. This year, the symposium will be virtual and will showcase the local and international impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced populations, with a focus on:
• Yemen: the world's worst humanitarian crisis
• Challenges in caring for newcomers with COVID-19 in California
• Focused workshops on advocacy, mental health, asylum evaluations, and more!
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
The Refugee and Asylum seeker Health Initiative at UCSF (RAHI) encompasses all ongoing refugee health activity at UCSF. RAHI’s mission is to improve the health of refugees, and its activities fall under four broad categories: research, clinical care, education, and community involvement
