About this Event

The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina presents:

The Only Certainties in Life are Death, Taxes, and Change

Featuring Samuel A. Donaldson, Georgia State University College of Law

CFWNC’s 29th Annual Professional Seminar will focus on the three certainties in life: death, taxes, and change. Samuel Donaldson, Professor at the Georgia State University College of Law, will address how recent changes in federal tax laws have fundamentally changed tax planning strategies. He'll recap all the important cases, rulings, regulations, and legislation from 2020 and 2021 related to the federal income, estate, and gift tax laws. He will also review several of the popular strategies for leveraging the current confluence of deflated asset values, low interest rates, and potential changes to the wealth transfer tax exclusion amount.
