The 2023 Virginia Black History Month Gala

Welcome to The 2023 Virginia Black History Month Gala!

This year's gala is scheduled for Saturday, 25 February 2023 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the beautiful Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia.

This year's keynote speaker is veteran actor, singer, and producer, "Leon" Robinson who is best known for his roles as David Ruffin in the TV film "The Temptations" (1998), J.T. Matthews in the 1991 Robert Townsend film "The Five Heartbeats", Derice Bannock in the 1993 film "Cool Runnings", Shep in the 1994 basketball drama film "Above the Rim", and Little Richard in the 2000 film "Little Richard".

We have a limited number of hotel rooms which we will offer at the discounted rate of $119 dollars per night. All hotel reservations must be made prior to Friday, 27 January 2023 to receive the discounted rate. (Credit cards will not be charged until you check out of the hotel)

Next year's gala will consist of two options:

1. Dining in the ballroom with the keynote speaker.
2. Watching the event on the internet in the comfort of your own home.

The hybrid gala will take place over the course of (2) days from Friday (afternoon) 24 February 2023 to Saturday (evening) 25 February 2023. You have the option to attend the gala on Saturday only or join us for the entire weekend. We will only have 700 tickets available for the gala.
