Event description

Did you know it is estimated that each person not counted in the 2020 Census will cost Ohio about $1,814 per year, per person for ten years? How specifically does a low Census count impact you? The answer to this question and more will be discussed at our June webinar: The 2020 Census and Why It Maters to You.

The Census comes every 10 years, asking questions about you and your household. You may not want to believe it, but the 2020 Census is right around the corner. Actually, it’s less than a year away! Surprisingly, the 2020 Census leverages billions of dollars for health and human services for the state of Ohio… $21 billion to be exact for programs like Medicaid, head start, foster care services, the national school lunch program, nutrition assistance for women and children, and much more. The 2020 Census even decides how much a state receives for highway planning and construction… so, even your commute is determined by the Census.

Join United Way’s Manager of Public Affairs & Advocacy, Lucas Stall, to learn more about dramatic digital changes in the upcoming Census and how this decennial survey impacts the nonprofit field.
