Legacy-56 presents the 2nd Annual Sankofa Series honoring the legacy of Dr. Cyd Campbell, FAAP.

Legacy-56 is proud to honor Dr. Cyd Campbell, a St. Petersburg native and board-certified pediatrician, specializing in behavioral and developmental pediatrics. Dr. Campbell has 30 years of medical practice and leadership experience and has been successful in addressing quality improvement for special needs populations and the behavioral health system of care. Her broad experiences in medical practice and innovative approaches for fostering collaboration across systems have been impactful in serving multi-cultural communities and across the nation.

The Sankofa Series opens on Friday, Oct. 18th at 6:00 PM, James Center - Eckerd College with the Sankofa Symposium entitled, 'Beyond the Diagnosis: Reclaiming the Genius in All Children." The event features a facilitated panel discussion with multi-disciplinary experts.

On Saturday, Oct. 19th at 7:15 PM, Miller Auditorium - Eckerd College, Legacy-56 will honor the legacy of Dr. Cyd Campbell in its special tribute, 'The Journey Home'. This event will present a historical and cultural perspective of Dr. Campbell's journey from her hometown into the world of medicine. The evening culminates with a salute to local healthcare professionals and an exciting celebration!

The Legacy-56 Sankofa Series honors individuals raised in South St. Petersburg who have successfully advanced in their fields of endeavor. This year's event will bring together over 300+ participants including City officials, community partners, pediatric healthcare and medical organizations, mental health practitioners, educators, corporations and diverse businesses organizations to pay tribute to Dr. Campbell for her distinguished career.
