Event Details

The upcoming 2020 election is shaping up to be the most contentious and divisive in recent memory. How can we, as leaders, set a different tone and model the kind of civic conversations we want to see? How can we create conversations that rise to the occasion of North Carolina’s most pressing challenges and opportunities? Last summer, Leadership North Carolina facilitated our inaugural LNC Alumni Tour, featuring Appalachian State University’s Dr. Karl Campbell’s presentation entitled, “A Historian’s Perspective on Civil Discourse and Civic Responsibility.” This summer, we are partnering with our friends at the Institute for Emerging Issues to learn and practice skills for conversations across differences. Join LNC alumni and friends for a rich, all-too-rare, experience that you can then take into your communities to turn the tide of rising rancor and deepening division in North Carolina.
