Is there a Discount Available for Students / Government / Non-Profit Organizations?

NEWIEE is a non-profit organization and the Gala is our major annual fundraiser to support NEWIEE programs throughout the year. There are no discounts offered at this event. Your support allows us to offer discounts at other events, as well as a reduced price annual membership. Thank you for your support!

What is the "Rising Star" Award?

NEWIEE created a new award in 2016, in honor of Allison Smith.

Allison Smith, who was well known to many in the energy community, lost her life in a car accident in February 2015. She approached her work on regional electric matters with confidence, respect, and grace. She cared deeply about the climate implications of our energy choices, and this passion influenced her choices about her education, her personal pursuits, and her work. She is remembered for her intelligence, inquisitive nature and incomparable ability to create good cheer. In honor of Allison, NEWIEE created the “Rising Star Award” in 2016, to be given to a woman who has less than ten years’ experience in her field, and who has demonstrated a commitment to and positive impact on her field, both professionally and in her personal endeavors.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, your registration/ticket is transferable, but we do request you contact us ahead of time so that we will have the appropriate name tag waiting for the attendee who is using the ticket.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you do not need to bring your ticket with you.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

It is fine if you are coming in place of someone and your name does not match the original attendee who purchased the ticket. We ask, however, that you please let us know as soon as you can about this switch so that we may have the proper name tag waiting for you at the event.
