Event description

Description

After selling out the New York R Conference in each of the last four years, attracting 350+ data scientists from around the world, we are excited to announce that the R conference is back and we are taking it to Washington DC this fall on November 8th and 9th at the Ronald Reagan Building.

For two days in November, the 2018 DCR Conference will feature world-class data scientists sharing cutting-edge research and lessons from the field including Roger Peng, Mara Averick, Max Kuhn, Kelly O’Briant, Dan Chen, Emily Robinson, David Smith and so many more. This will be our first R Conference held in Washington DC.

The backbone of the R language is its community of users, contributors and supporters. The open source ethos of this community propels the language forward with thousands of add-on packages and a helpful, welcoming environment. All around the world R practitioners hold meetups where knowledge is shared and relationships are formed. This conference grew out of the New York Open Statistical Programming Meetup, also known as the New York R Meetup (@nyhackr)---the world’s largest, with over 10,000 members, covering topics including data science, visualization and machine learning in R and also Python and Julia---to further foster the community and serve as a fun gathering place where people can learn from so many luminaries in an intimate setting.
