SHOWCASE AWARDS 2017

Showcase Group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of     at ­risk youth, announces this year’s annual Showcase Award recipients and fundraising efforts for its Group Home in Franklin, GA which will take place Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Riverside Epi Center at 3:00 pm. General admission is $35 per ticket and VIP is $100 per ticket. 

The event will recognize five recipients across five award categories, which are the Showcase Group “Pillars:” Prevention, Community Engagement, Inspiration, Facing Our Future and Self­ Actualization. The event will also seek to raise donations to fund the completion of it’s Group home initiative in Franklin, Ga.

About Showcase Group

Showcase Group is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Atlanta, GA dedicated to improving the lives of incarcerated and at-risk youth through alternative and evidence-based interventions. Founded in 2011, Showcase Group is administered entirely by volunteers and led by Executive Director, John Kennebrew, a family and adolescent psychotherapist. With first-hand experience as a foster parent and mental health professional serving incarcerated youth, Kennebrew launched Showcase Group to bring positive, evidence-based treatments to youths in the juvenile justice system and residential child care facilities throughout the state of Georgia. These interventions include educational and tutoring services, career preparation, life and coping skills, art therapy, drama therapy, and mentoring. Showcase Group is preparing its first group home in Franklin, Ga. to help recently incarcerated youths transition from juvenile justice facilities back into society. Showcase Group

The Showcase Group is a nonprofit 501(c)3 created in 2011 to serve children entrenched in Georgia’s child welfare continuum including foster care, adoption disruption, intensive psychiatric treatment programs, psychiatric hospitals and juvenile detention centers. SG’s Mission is to strengthen families and communities by providing youth with the opportunity of creative expression, psychological development, and behavioral growth.
