The 2017 Gig Harbor Wine & Food Festival Grand Tasting Event will feature some of the best Chef’s the Pacific Northwest has to offer, several of which will be battling it out in two cook-off competitions under the watchful eye of Chef Thierry Rautureau, the Chef in the Hat. Wine & Food lovers will enjoy sampling the best of what more than 50 regional restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries have to offer. The Grand Tasting Event will be held on the grounds of the Harbor History Museum on beautiful Gig Harbor Bay, Saturday, July 29, from Noon – 4:30pm.

Attendees will receive a commemorative wine glass, carrying bag, tasting plate, wine opener, event program with map and 15 sip tickets at entry.

Aside from providing savory delights for anyone’s palate, the event will feature a variety of wine seminars and food demonstrations by food and wine experts for those eager to learn. Sip wine and develop your culinary skills, all while experiencing the lovely maritime location. The class schedule is not yet available but check back periodically for updates. We will notify you if you have already purchased your tickets for the Grand Tasting once they become available.

Returning for his fourth appearance at the festival is the always entertaining Chef in the Hat, Thierry Rautureau. Chef/Owner of Luc and Loulay Kitchen & Bar in Seattle (the Seattle Met Restaurant of the Year 2014), his culinary knowledge, combined with his enjoyable sense of humor, will make for an entertaining afternoon. He has won various awards including the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Pacific Northwest in 1998, and has been awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre Du Merite Agricole by the French. Chef Rautureau will emcee and moderate two cook-offs featuring four regionally accomplished chefs, all of which have proven themselves in numerous cooking competitions.

The Gig Harbor Wine & Food Festival is co-sponsored by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance and the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor. All proceeds will sponsor local community projects.
