Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

You can contact the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce at 540-745-4407 or

What happens to all ducks after they cross the finish line?

We have a "No duck left behind" policy.  After the ducks pass the finish line, volunteers in kayaks along with waders in the river will retreive all the ducks crossing the finish line that will be stopped by netting across the river past the finish line.  Volunteers will also retreive any ducks beached along the river banks or snagged by objects in the river.  The course is approximately a half mile long. We are committed to being good stewards of the river!  Ducks will be saved for use again next year.

Is this a fundraiser?

Yes, proceeds from this event will support the Floyd Visitor Center operated under a partnership between the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce and the Floyd Tourism Office.
