Thu 15 September 2016, 15:00 – 17:30 EDT
***Venue tickets have now sold out. Please register for the livestreaming tickets.***
This event will look at the four major UN landmark agreements reached during 2015 (The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Sustainable Development Goals, the Financing for Development agreement and the Paris Climate Change Agreements).
Using the expertise and knowledge of a panel of highly respected leaders within the areas of disaster risk reduction, sustainable development, humanitarian finance and climate change adaptation, the event will use presentations, discussion and debate to draw attention to the key targets of inclusion and empowerment of women and girls and develop ideas on achieving an inclusive implementation phase.
It is hoped that this discussion will lead to a voluntary agreement within the stakeholders present to share information, strategy and direction more readily and to form a collaborative approach in meeting these historic and challenging goals.
Eleanor Blomstrom - Program Director at the Women's Environment & Development Organization
Ebru A. Gencer - Executive Director of the Center for Urban Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience
Marguerite Harden - Urban Climate Change Research & Teaching Fellow at Yale University
We also have Daniel Seymour (Deputy Director Programme at UN Women) acting as Moderator and Neil McFarlane (Chief at United Nations on Disaster Risk Reduction) providing the high-level introduction.
**Due to limited availability, please order just one ticket per person. If you order a venue ticket, please do not order a livestream ticket also and vice-versa.**
