Event Details

The Kiwanis Club of North Hunterdon-Clinton is organizing volunteer activity for The 2010 Jerseyman Triathlon being held May 23rd, 2010 at the Spruce Run Recreation Area in Clinton, New Jersey.  The day promises to be filled with excitement.  It will not be possible, however, without the dedicated volunteers who give their time to ensure that the event gets off to a good start and runs smoothly throughout the day.  We look to partner with our sponsored youth programs and other members of the community to make this day all that it can be.  Please use this site to sign up for the various areas we need assistance.

There are eight (8) different areas of service for which we need volunteers for the day.

Parking Lot
Volunteers here will help direct traffic and coordinate parking for event participants, spectators and volunteers.  We need at least five (5) people to assist here for each shift - 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Transition Area
Volunteers at this part of the course will verify athlete credentials and secure the transition area.  We need at least six (6) people to assist here for each shift.  This area needs coverage from 7:00 AM through 5:00 PM.  We have broken this into two shifts -- 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM (6 People needed for each shift).

Swim To Transition Area
Volunteers at this part of the course will be responsible for directing athletes as they exit the water.  We need at least six (6) people to assist here.  This area needs coverage from 7:00 AM through 11:00 AM.

Bike To Run
Volunteers at this part of the course will be responsible for directing athletes as they transition from bicycling to the run course.  We need at least six (6) people to assist here.  This area needs coverage from 10:00 AM through 2:00 PM.

Finish Line
Volunteers at this part of the course will be responsible for distributing medals and collecting "timing chips".  We need at least six (6) people to assist here.  This area needs coverage from 11:00 AM through 5:00 PM.

Run Water Stops
Volunteers at this part of the course will be responsible for providing aid (handing out water, materials, etc.) to athletes as they progress through the run course.  There are six water tables that will need to be manned.  We need six people per table.  Therefore we need at least thirty-six (36) people to assist here.  This area needs coverage from 10:00 AM through 5:00 PM.

Clean-Up Crew
Volunteers at this part of the course will be responsible for breaking down transition area, collecting cones, and general clean-up.  We need at least ten (10) people to assist here during each shift.  We have brokent this into two shifts from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

Turns on Run Course
Volunteers at this part of the course will be responsible for directing athletes as they progress through the run course.  We need at least sixteen (16) people to assist here.  This area needs coverage from 10:00 AM through 5:00 PM.

We realize that not everyone will be available to assist during the above time slots.  That is why we created the "I'm Only Available For The Following Time" option above.  Just select that option and tell us when you are available.  We'll do the rest.  We'll coordinate exactly where to place you so that you will be able to assist us during the time you are available.

All volunteers will receive an event t-shirt and free food (barbeque) during the event.
