The 14th Annual Northwest Teaching for Social Justice Conference will be virtual this year, including keynote presenter Dr. Bettina Love!!

About this event

The 14th Annual Northwest Teaching for Social Justice Conference aims to connect, inspire, engage, and empower social justice educators in the Pacific Northwest. This one-day virtual event features a keynote address and two 90-minute workshop sessions.

We are excited to announce that our keynote address this year will be presented by Dr. Bettina L. Love. Dr. Love is an award-winning author, co-founder of the Abolitionist Teaching Network (ATN), and the Athletic Association Endowed Professor at the University of Georgia. Her books include We Want to Do More Than Survive: Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom and Hip Hop’s Li’l Sistas Speak: Negotiating Hip Hop Identities and Politics in the New South.

All subsequent information and conference workshop registration will happen through Sched. The email you enter at payment will be your registration email for Sched. More information about registering for the workshops and accessing the online workshops through Zoom will be sent out closer to the date of the conference via email from the Sched app. You will need to sign in to Sched in order to sign up for the workshops.

The NWTSJ website (nwtsj.org) also has more information about the workshops and conference. It will also be updated closer to the conference with more information about specific workshops.
