and winners in our 12 award categories:
Arts & Culture - Business, non-profit, government or community organization that has demonstrated innovative thinking or tangible innovative work, performance or product in the fields of visual or performing art, photography, videography, film, design, written word, music or related fields.
Social Enterprise - Business that has demonstrated a measurable positive impact on the community by investing money or time in charitable endeavors, and / or through sustainable and socially conscious business practices.
#LoveLocal – Locally-owned and operated small business that has demonstrated innovative thinking and / or positively impacted its surrounding neighborhood or community.
Programming & Learning – Business, non-profit, government, educational or community organization that has demonstrated innovative thinking and / or positively impacted its community in the fields of education, teaching, learning, program development, information services or related fields.
Entrepreneurial Culture – Business, non-profit, government, educational or community organization that has advanced the culture of entrepreneurship in the community through the use of educational programming, business incubation and mentorship, investment, creative support, business support, networking or related fields.
Community Engagement – Non-profit, government, educational or community organization that has measurably enriched a local neighborhood or interest group through the use of innovative organizational, collaboration, events, media, and other tactics.
Community Advocate – This person made a measurable positive impact on his or her neighborhood or interest group and can document positive changes thanks to her work as an individual or in leadership position(s) in business, non-profit or professional organizations and / or elected positions.
Community Cheerleader – This person lifts up Nashville, its people and businesses through smart, collaborative and creative use of personal or professional media, public speaking, art, music, or related fields. Nominees in this field have a diverse array of interests benefiting the city as a whole.
Creative Achiever – This person produced significant creative achievements in the fields of art, culture or lifestyle. Nominees' work must have been published, presented or displayed publicly.
Business Innovator – This person launched, significantly grew or re-invented a demonstrably innovative or socially impactful business(es) in the past year. This category is not limited to start-ups, though the winner must demonstrate innovative thinking.
Educator / Mentor – This person inspired, taught and / or mentored a sizeable number of others in the local community to be their personal and / or professional best. They might be a teacher, preacher, guru, coach, consultant, instructor, etc.
Unsung Hero – This person toils tirelessly behind the scenes to the measurable benefit of non-profit, community, educational and neighborhood groups and causes. They are the person so many others call when they want to ensure things are done on time and done well.
