Description

Cook Thanksgiving Dinner at Wayside's Community Kitchen

We will be cooking all of the food for Thanksgiving dinner ahead of time on Wednesday, November 22nd, so if you love to cook, this is the day to help! There are a couple of volunteer options available on this day. All volunteer positions require the ability to work safely in a kitchen setting and stand for 2 or more hours.

Available shifts:

Thanksgiving Meal Preparers, 9am-11:30am or 11:30am-2pm - If you love to cook or even if you're just wondering what 300 pounds of mashed potatoes looks like, this is the job for you! Volunteers will work with staff members in Wayside's central kitchen preparing food for Thursday's meal and keeping the kitchen clean and organized throughout the day.

Turkey Carvers, 3pm-5pm - Want to practice your knife skills? Worried about carving the family turkey in front of the in-laws? Help Wayside staff carve turkeys to be served on Thanksgiving Day. Chef Don will give a tutorial, and 40+ turkeys later, we'll all be experts! Volunteers will also help keep the kitchen clean and organized.
