This training prepares one in all the skills necessary to offer a complete and safe two hour Thai massage. With a strong emphasis on proper body dynamics and how to use leverage, you will learn how to effortlessly apply pressure to sore muscles, energy lines & trigger points as well as learn how to bring your partner through a series of assisted yoga stretches to fully open and relax them. This work is both dynamic and healing. This training has been refined for over a decade to offer all students the ability to master these skills in a short amount of time. After completing the course, all dedicated practitioners are able to offer a profoundly healing and delightful treatment. For certification, one must complete all four days and ten practice sessions.
Course Outline: Each day you will learn a new thirty minute routine focusing on a specific body area, ultimately resulting in a complete two hour sequence. Courses can be taken individually or sign up for the full training at a discount. This is a wonderful way to complement the massage or yoga that you are currently offering and provide yourself with a new skill and income stream. You will receive a detailed guidebook with pictures and descriptions to aid in your ongoing practice. A comprehensive DVD is also available to practice at home with.

Previously, Michael served as a core faculty member at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Lenox, MA. He worked there as both a program director and a massage therapist. Since 1998, he has been lead faculty for the '500 hour bodywork certification training' in the Kripalu School of Massage.
Michael is professionally trained in Swedish Massage, Kripalu Bodywork, Thai Massage, Breema Bodywork, Positional Release Therapy and Yoga Therapy. In addition, Michael is a Sivananda certified yoga teacher. His various studies have led him to create a unique style of 'Thai Yoga Bodywork' which blends all these modalities into a creative and therapeutic healing art.
Michael began his studies of Thai Massage in 1998 with an intensive offered by Ananda Apfelbaum at the Omega Institute. He then journeyed to Thailand to meet her teacher, Pichest Boonthume. He has also studied with (or assisted) Kam Thye Chow, Ken Nelson & Jonas Westring.
Michael has developed a complete Thai Yoga Bodywork training including a manual and a DVD which has been presented across the country and internationally. He is an approved continuing education (CE) provider, accredited by the National Certification Board for Thherapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). (Approved Provider # 451645-11)
