About this event
Welcome to Philadelphia Tour Event 1 of 4:
Teyuna Sacred Teachings on the Feminine Principle
The Teyuna exist in deep communion with every living thing. Given their utmost dedication to the Earth Mother, the Teyuna hold the Feminine as absolutely sacred.
In their first ever visit to Philadelphia, gather with the Teyuna mamos (male spiritual leaders) and a zaga (female spiritual leader)to experience their sacred teachings of the Feminine Principle. Learn from their deep meditative listening, compassionate leadership skills, and service to the Earth Mother.
**Note: This talk will take place at the Coach House on the Bartram's property. You can park in the normal parking lot near the Barn. People will be on site to help direct you to the Coach House.**
Why is this Philadelphia Tour so special?
- This trip marks the first time in history that a Teyuna zaga (female spiritual leader) will be in the United States, offering female wisdom into the sacred teachings and earth healing practices.
- On this trip the Teyuna Foundation is launching research into the diverse environmental and community impacts of Teyuna healing practices. It aims to generate deeper understanding of the union of the sacred and ecological, and to apply a careful, integrative approach that allows the rest of the world to better appreciate the power of Teyuna wisdom in practice.

The Teyuna—a name that means “thinker of clear thoughts”—are one of the few indigenous cultures whose wisdom survived colonization. Their lives, especially those of their mamos and zagas (male and female spiritual leaders), are dedicated to upholding “Earth’s Original Law,” which states that everyone must protect and nurture the planet—our collective home.
The Teyuna people consist of 4 tribes: the Arhuaco, the Kankuamo, the Kogi, and the Wiwa. They live in harmony with nature in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Columbia, the land they call “The Heart of the World.” In recent years they have risked coming down from the sacred mountains to share the wisdom of Mother Earth with the rest of humanity, especially the messages to restore balance.
With recent travels in the United States, the mamos have been able to share their teaching, healing and stewardship across many communities. They have been able to connect deeply with humans who are eager to help further sow & grow these seeds of wisdom.
Now is an exciting time in the Teyuna people’s journey of promoting greater consciousness and earth stewardship around the planet. Thank you for joining us in this journey!
The aim of the study is to generate knowledge into the power of the Teyuna’s traditional healing practices that is directly translatable to Western audiences. Results from the research will include:
- Greater awareness of the power of the Teyuna’s work and why it needs to be supported by society at large
- Increased ability for Teyuna to conduct their teachings & practices in service of planetary & personal healing
- More rapid growth of our global community of earth stewards
- Development of additional research studies and partnerships to further expand knowledge of the power of Teyuna ways
