Texiles Re-use Workshop
This free workshop is open to Bexley residents over the age of 18.
Are you thinking of throwing away some of your clothes or have some lurking in the back of your wardrobe? Then why not give them a new lease of life by updating them by using some simple handsewing methods. This course will give you some great ideas on how to adapt clothes and to try some new techniques out. It is most suitable to those with little or some sewing skills.
You can be as simple or adventurous as you choose; applique an item, add buttons, make fabric flowers or change a top into a skirt! Memory keepsakes are also a great way to save and reuse material too.
The workshop will start with a short 20 minute presentation about textiles followed by the practical session. There should be enough time to complete most projects on the day - depending on the size and complexity of your design/changes. The workshops are being run with Bexley Adult Education and their tutor will be running the practical part of the workshop.
This workshop is for mainly hand sewing only - although sometimes we have access to a sewing machine.
