Making the Case for Quality

Formerly known as "Level II: Digging Deeper"

Dig deeper into AAQEP standards in this interactive workshop. Explore practical strategies for documenting evidence to support particular aspects of the standards, discover how to use that evidence to plan and implement improvement steps, and get guidance on completing your AAQEP accreditation proposal and Quality Assurance Report (self-study).

This workshop is designed for members actively pursuing AAQEP accreditation but is open to anyone interested in learning more about the system. Prior participation in a foundations workshop is encouraged but not required.

Date: Tuesday, July 9, 2019

Time: 9:00am-4:00pm. Event check-in begins at 8:45am.

Learning From Data: Accuracy and Equity

How does data quality depend on validity, reliability, and other core concepts—and why do these matter for accreditation evidence? Explore the purposes of data quality and how to apply its concepts to your own practices and instruments. Develop a plan for ensuring that your evidence systems yield accurate and equitable accounts of program quality and can support significant program improvement. Bring copies of instruments you use in each of the following categories:

  • An assignment with its assessment rubric

  • An observation form

  • An alumni or employer survey or interview protocol

This workshop is tailored to AAQEP members but explores concepts that are useful to anyone working with assessments in educator preparation.

Host: University of Texas at Arlington, 440 W. Nedderman Dr., Arlington, TX 76019

Location: The workshop will be held in The Commons, in the Nueces room (upstairs, the first room on the right).

Registration, per person: $495 AAQEP member; $585 nonmember; group discount available for 6 or more registrants from the same institution/provider. Lunch and light breakfast included in price. (Without bundle discount, attending both workshops would cost $550 for AAQEP members and $650 for nonmembers. Register together here to save 10%!)
