Open Government Conference for the general public, government employees, public officials, representatives of the media and companies doing business with Texas government.
Sessions are FREE and meals are included.

AGENDA
8:15 a.m.: Check-in begins, breakfast/coffee available.
8:45 – 9:30 a.m.: Opening Session, a discussion of the latest trends and updates in Texas open government law, hosted by Rep. Todd Hunter and featuring First Amendment Attorney Laura Prather and area journalists.
9:45 to 11 a.m.: Texas Public Information Act 101. The Texas Attorney General’s Office provides an overview of the Public Information Act.
11 – 11:15 a.m.: Break
11:15 – 12:15 a.m.: Texas Public Information Act Cost Rules. The Texas Attorney General’s Office provides instruction on the cost rules related to the Public Information Act.
12:15 – 12:40: Break
12:40 – 2 p.m.: Texas Open Meetings Act. The Texas Attorney General’s Office presents the basics of the Open Meetings Act.
NOTE: The training sessions beginning at 9:45 a.m. fulfill the requirement for public officials or their designees to complete training on the Public Information Act under section 552.012 of the Texas Government Code and training on the Open Meetings Act under section 551.005 of the Government Code. Training sessions also qualify for State Bar of Texas CLE credit for attorneys.
