What is a Tax Sale Auction?
The selling of property for non-payment of ad-valorem(property) taxes. The collection of property taxes is a huge priority in every county in the State of Texas. If a county cannot collect property taxes, they would go broke. Here in Texas, taxing entities will force the sale of delinquent homeowners in order to collect taxes owed. The county sheriff is responsible for this auction which is held on the courthouse steps every month.
Did You Know?
Every month, thousands of properties are auctioned off on the courthouse steps for pennies on the dollar. Most delinquent properties are 3-5 years behind on their ad-valorem taxes. There are 254 counties in the State of Texas and each county has a Tax Auction scheduled on the 1st Tuesday of each month.
What We Know?
Every year homeowners fall behind on the property taxes due to many hardships. Tax deed investing in Texas is one of the best investment you can make due to the high interest rate penalty that is passed onto the investor that buys the delinquent taxes on the courthouse steps. The two ways to profit from this investment vehicle: high statutory rate of return or purchase real estate far below(50% off) market value. What you will Learn?
