Description

License To Carry

316 Defense teaches the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) 4-6 hour License To Carry Course. We emphasize gun safety in all aspects of conceal and carry and proper/safe storage of ALL firearms. We believe in your right to personal defense, however we encourage conflict resolution and avoidance before considering the use of force.

To complete the LTC training you must have attended the four to six hour classroom portion and the firearms qualification portion of the training with a minimum score of 70 on both the written test and shooting proficiency. Range Fees are included in the cost of the course. You must also complete the on-line Texas Department of Public Safety Application for your LTC and schedule your Finger Print appointment with Identogo and following the successful completion of the LTC Course, submit your course completion form, CHL-100, to the DPS.

If you are already familiar with handguns, we will qualify you prior to the class. You will need to be at the range by 7:00am for your qualification breifing followed by the qualification shoot. If you are not familiar with proper handgun safety procedures, loading and unloading, proper stance and aiming of your firearm please wait till after the class to qualify. We will have a one hour firearms familarization class following the required DPS-LTC class and then move to the range for qualification.

When turning into the 407 Gun Club from FM 407, the class will be held in the first building on the left. Enter from the south side of the building to the classroom to your left as you enter the building. The range is to the back of the property and is a partially below grade building.

Bring ear and eye protection (prescription glasses are acceptable), a cap, your firearm (.22 cal or greater) and fifty rounds of ammunition (50 additional rounds if you are new to firearms to use for practice prior to qualification if necessary) and pens/pencils for note taking and the multiple choice test.
