This session will address a differential perspective of visitation refusal based on a review of literature and clinical experiences. Early identification of parent-child contact problems and future risks for child/ren will be discussed. Presenter will discuss interventions designed to resolve visitation resistance/refusal before behaviors become embedded.

From start to finish: What I need to know about bias, decision-making, parenting plans for special needs children and navigating the legal terrain?
Navigating family court and parenting plans: How biases and judgments influence our clients, our opponents and the court system and what can I do about. And what about 50/50 – is it fad our science. A day of learning about how biases and decision-making skills impact all aspects of the legal process and how to use this information to obtain desired outcomes. Plus, a detailed discussion of how to develop parenting plans for special needs children and what the research says about whether 50/50 is the best plan for children.
