About this event
Mark your calendars for January 23 & 24, 2023! Texas Health Advocacy Day.
Come and join your fellow healthcare professionals as we advocate to create safer and more efficient healthcare systems through the use of technology and policies impacting them.
We'll kick off Texas Health Advocacy Days activities on Monday morning at the Austin State Capitol with prep and training sessions. In the afternoon we will hear from keynote speakers and will wrap up with panel presentations on key Texas Healthcare issues. That evening will host a networking social for volunteers sharing additional information and providing time to meet fellow volunteers. Tuesday morning the hard work begins with visits with Texas legislators and their staff where we will introduce, educate, and discuss important topics. Dress professional but highly suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes.
Join us and participate in talks, walks, calls and planning that include everything from meetings with our legislators to helping with programs and social outreach. We look forward to having you and your colleagues join us for two productive days at our state's capitol. As a Healthcare Professionals and Texas citizen, your role in Advocacy will be to educate and advocate for critical and important issues. You will not be representing your organization where you are employed, you will be representing Healthcare Professionals across Texas through your local HIMSS Chapter and TORCH.
Topics of critical importance to Texans include:
- Rural Health
- Public Health (Maternal Health, Chronic Disease Management and Medication Safety)
- Workforce
