It's time again for the Teterboro Wings & Wheels Show on 10-11 September, at Teterboro Airport Hanger 1 on Industrial Avenue south of Route 46.
The show is a static display of historic aircraft and classic cars and is a benefit for the Teterboro Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum of New Jersey. The AHOF has come to rely on Civil Air Patrol's assistance so, once again, they have called on us to help to maintain the security on the perimeter of the show and keep the public safe.
This year the show will have many wonderful aircraft including the classic B-17 Flying Fortress "Yankee Lady", a P-47 Thunderbolt (the "JUG" ), a C-47 Dakota, the B-25 Mitchell, and a T-6 Texan trainer, plus many modern military aircraft like the F-5 and F/A 18.
Group 221 Squadrons have supported the event in years past but any NJ Wing Senior or Cadet member is most welcome to come and help. While the show is hard work, you will have ample time off duty to tour the aircraft. AND IT'S FREE!! No cost to attend when you are working the show with CAP, plus lunch and water are provided.
If you can come for both days, or only one day, we need your help. Uniform of the day is BDUs.
Your CAP ID, CAP Form 31 and CAP Form 60 are required and you must be current in your monthly safety education requirement.
Check in will be between 0700 and 0800 hours both days, so we can have our positions in place when the show opens at 0900 hours. Dismissal will be between 1745 and 1800.
I look forward to seeing you and serving with you at the 2011 Teterboro Wings and Wheels !
Major Kevin Sands, CAP
CC, Teterboro Composite Squadron (NJ-097)
