Event description

Description

#TestFestVic is a unique competitive event in which you will be involved in creating a digital-related invention and video campaign to increase HIV testing in Victoria. The event involves computer programmers (Hacker), project managers (Hustler), graphics and interface designers (Hipster), and subject-matter-experts (Hugger), collaborating on software or hardware projects. #TestFestVic builds upon other Hackathon and digital intervention type activities that have occurred in the health sector in other parts of the world, bringing the concept closer to Victoria and will challenge teams to build a technological invention to encourage testing in the following hard to reach populations:

  1. Young women who study, travel or work abroad
  2. International students
  3. Community members with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds
  4. Community members who identify with and travel to high endemic countries (i.e. sub-Saharan Africa, South East Asia, Eastern European nations)

#TestFestVic aims to bring together multidisciplinary teams from across Victoria to innovate and disrupt the current thinking about what it takes to encourage people from hard to reach populations to test for HIV.

Please visit testfestvictoria.com for more information.

Book the ticket for the indution day here. In the event, there will be group activities for you to meet new people and build your #TestFestVic team. We will also invite HIV and digital experts to talk about HIV as a global issue and digital intervention as a solution for global causes.
