Mark Pilkington (Live A/V)
Mark Pilkington is a composer and performer of electroacoustic music. His practice encapsulates sound and image as a means to extend spatial imaginings between real and virtual space. The coupling of images and sounds within audiovisual media is applied to the composition of acousmatic music, site-specific installation and screen-based works. Forging the immaterial and creative labor through a network of interwoven and augmented territories, his work increasingly queries the way operations carry great critical and creative potential. Seeking new modes of critical engagement that incorporate multiple narratives through media informs the direction of his pedagogy. His theoretical research focuses on the relationship between artistic genres and their respective aesthetic theories with reference to electroacoustic music,
audio-visual, sound design and film. His audio-visual works have been performed, exhibited and screened at ICMC, ARS Electronica, Synchresis, Turing 100, MANTIS festival and the Open Circuit Festival.

Scual - Derivative Res (Live AV)
The video performance consist of an oscillating system of particles which lives upon a fragile equilibrium between control and chaos. The physical system, under a constant flux of inputs, can behave in random and unexpected manners, way out of the direct control of the performer, like a structure resonating in an infinite echo of oscillations. The sound, mutating its form from ambientbased to more noise scapes, is the polyform trigger under which the system reacts, but it is also influenced by it, in a bidirectional exchange of inputs. A deep interconnection between the two components, thus to create a bonding experience.
Scual – Special Cures for Uncurable Anesthetized Lovers – is a multimedia project started by Lorenzo Ciciani in late 2006.
Born as an experimental web platform for the publication of multidisciplinary projects, as results of personal works and collaborations, it moved on the physical plane, first with the activity of vjing, then by proposing multimedia performances and installations. The aesthetic research focuses on the permeation of different media categories, synthesized
through the digital processing, emphasizing the distortions and discontinuities that occur between this passage. Scual is one of the initiatives behind the creation of the network of artistic research, Stochastic
