Event description

Description

For the fifth year, Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe will be holding a community tree lighting on the grounds of the Nikola Tesla laboratory in Shoreham. On Saturday, December 2, at 3:30 p.m., community groups and families that have preregistered will decorate trees that are set up around the base of what was once Tesla’s wireless transmission tower.

There will be an opportunity for the community to see the inscribed bricks around the statue of Tesla at that time. At 4 p.m. we will be honoring Scouts and other people who have contributed to the improvements at Wardenclyffe.

Santa will be making a visit to the event around 4:15 p.m. and the trees will be lit.

Families, scout groups, or organizations that would like to register to decorate a tree can contact Tesla Science Center at info@teslasciencecenter.org or sign up here. There is a limit of 11 trees to be decorated. First come, first served.

The public is invited to visit the site for the tree lighting. Parking is available on site.

The laboratory is located on the northeast corner of Route 25A and Randall Road in Shoreham, and the entrance is on Randall Road.

• Complimentary hot cocoa and cookies
• Sale of Tesla t-shirts, prints and more for holiday gift-giving
