Georgetown’s Center for Security Studies (CSS) and the Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV) at the University of St Andrews are proud to present “Terrorism: A Review of the Current Threat Landscape.”

This two-day conference will address ongoing threats from ISIS and al Qaeda as well as their respective branches, from Iran and other state-sponsors, and from violent far-right extremism and the Incel movement. Other panels will focus on counterterrorism legal and privacy issues, countering state-sponsored terrorism, and technology and terrorism.

The conference will feature discussions between experts from Georgetown, St Andrews, and the wider community, with keynotes from Lord Jonathan Evans, former Director General of the British Security Service (MI5), and Nick Rasmussen, former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC).

See the Center for Security Studies website for the full conference agenda and parking/transportation information.

Kindly register for each day you plan to attend the conference. Registration will remain open through 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21. Lunch will be provided for all registered attendees.

For accommodations relating to a disability, contact Jordan Moeny at the Center for Security Studies at jrm296@georgetown.edu no later than Friday, January 17. A good faith effort will be made to fulfill any requests made after that time.

Support for this conference is provided in part by the George T. Kalaris Intelligence Studies Fund.
