Event description

Description

While Americans are used to categorizing wine by the grape varietal(s) used to create it, Europeans have historically focused instead on the place where the fruit is grown. In this system, each region has it own appellation name and recipe for how its wine should be made. With her new line of appellation-specific French wines, Concord, Massachusetts native Mary Taylor is issuing a bold challenge to consumers here: It's time to start thinking beyond the grape. We're delighted to welcome Mary Taylor - and her considerable wine knowledge and experience - to our classroom to help us understand European wine regions and the all-important concept of terroir.

In both the cheese and wine world, appellation guarantees a certain level of quality, character and regional typicity. We'll pair Mary's wines with cheeses of similar character and tradition. Join us for an extra special evening celebrating wine, cheese, and terroir!

NOTE: This class is held at our classroom annex, not our retail location. The annex is located at 67 Smith Place in Cambridge, and we highly recommend reviewing the directions available here.
