An epic multimedia meditation and large outdoor spectacle with lasers, dance, drums, music, lighting, sculpture, water, fire, science, technology, climbers, shadows, and projections.
In celebration of Project for a New Millennium’s 20th anniversary as an Arts/Science/Environmental not-for-profit, and a memorial to its fearless founder, Joy Wulke, Projects2k brings you this multimedia narrative of the history of our planet, from the fiery forging of our continents to the age of man to 250 million years into the future!
Our previous multi-media shows: “Navigation Through Time” (UConn Avery Point), “Branford Luminata” (Branford, CT Green), “The Planets” (Yale’s Woolsey Hall), and four previous unforgettable “Terra” performances in the Quarry — all demonstrate the power of ART to illuminate our perceptions of the world around us. Projects2K’s events are always widely anticipated and continue to amaze all who attend.
The Terra Tractus Team includes long-time Projects2K partners/collaborators Jamie Burnett (Lighting Design), Tom Burnett (Director), and Istvan B’Racz (Composer/Original Score), as well as the talented Media Projection Designers, Dan Fine and Matthew Ragan, Artist/Rock Climber, Silas Finch, and his team of Artist/ Climbers. Choreographer Nazorine Paglia.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to the event?
There will be parking in or around the quarry EXCEPT BY SPECIAL VIP TICKETING OPTION. All attendees will park at Walsh Intermediate School (185 Damascus Road, Branford, CT 06405) and take shuttle buses in to the quarry. Shuttles will run continuously from 6:00p to 8:15p to the quarry. They will run continuously back to the shuttle lot following the performance. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updated information. Contact us for special needs and special group sizes brought to the site by your own shuttle.
What should/can/can't I bring to the event?
Everything you need to know is in our Quarry Rules. Wear good shoes and warm clothes as it can get cool in the evenings. Bring insect repellent, water, sunscreen and flashlights. The climate is more harsh in the Quarry pit, so be prepared! Think of it like camping. You may bring food and non-alcoholic beverages in unbreakable containers. NO ALCOHOL CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE QUARRY.
What is the seating like at the event?
We have rows of chairs directly on the quarry floor. Audience members can bring cushions and blankets for added comfort.
What is the rain delay/refund policy?
In case of inclement weather, all tickets will be honored for later performances. Projects2k will email audience members to inform them of cancellation. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org upon canellation reciept to schedule for a new show date (important to ensure that we have enough seats!). A refund will be offered for rain only if the final performance is rained out.
What is your preshow experience?
Preshow experience will include Tai Chi demonstrations, quarry tours, art instillations and more. Come, hike, enjoy the daytime setting of the Quarry! Food trucks will be available onsite for pre-performance dining. Our calendar of vending partners includes the Casues Cheese Truck (6/19, 6/26, 6/27), Lunchbox 23 (6/22, 6/25), High Tide Gourmet (6/20, 6/23) and Munchies Food Truck (6/28). The Ice Cream Truck will be available on all nights! We do recommend getting the to Quarry early to get a chance to see the space during daylight.
Do I have to bring my ticket to the event? What are your ticketing policies?
YOU MUST BRING YOUR PRINTED TICKET TO THE EVENT, along with a signed copy of both the Waiver of Liability and Quarry Rules for you and each member in your party. These three documents must be handed in at the Box Office for entry to the performance. Coming with these three items completed will prevent your seating from being delayed. Copies of the Waivers/Rules will be available on site for review.
Student, Senior and military IDs are verified on site. We strongly advise no one under 5 years of age attend as the terrain can be dangerous (Please see Quarry Rules).
What is the accessibility/physical activity to be expected onsite?
The walk from the bus-drop to the Quarry stage is short (about 2 minutes), though the terrain is on a decline. It is a mild/moderate hike for almost all capabilities, though there will be vehicle assistance for those unable to make the walk.
Can I walk in or ride a bike to the Quarry?
Yes you may walk in or ride a bike to the quarry. You must have purchased a ticket online before hand. You must park your bike at lot as you pass through the quarry gate. You will be met by a gate keeper and quarry guide who will gather a group and lead you up to the quarry box office. Please advise this site via email if you plan to walk or bike in. There will be no bike riding on the quarry grounds. There will be no motor cycles on quarry grounds.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
You may purchase tickets for others, though they must bring a signed copy of the Waiver of Liability and Quarry Rules for themselves. Please bring the printed ticket along with a signed copy of both the signed Waiver of Liability and Quarry Rules for you and each member in your party. These three documents must be handed in at the Box Office for entry to the performance. Copies of the Waivers/Rules will be available on site for review.
Remember, Student and Senior IDs will be verified upon entry, so for example, if a Student ticket was purchased and is given to a non-student for entry, we will collect the difference at the Box Office.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
We have set up a Box Office Hot Line for Terra Tractus -- (203) 444-8311. If by chance we are unable to take your call, please leave a voice or text message and we’ll get back with you as quickly as possible.
