Terra Madre Potluck & General Membership Meeting
Stone Soup – Back To the Earth
Saturday Dec. 10 from 6-9 p.m.
Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op (new location on 29th St. between R & S Streets)
Please join Slow Food Sacramento for our annual membership meeting and potluck on Terra Madre Day at the new and improved Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op (29th St. betwee R & S Streets). Pot luck and meeting held upstairs in the Cooking School and Community Learning Center!
Wondering what we mean by Stone Soup – Back To the Earth? In the spirit of fostering community and believing in the power of breaking bread together, we are asking our members to please bring one of the following:
- An item to add into the soup: cooked or soaked beans or lentils; raw vegetables like carrots, celery, onions, fennel, potatoes, mushrooms, kale or collards; whole grains like barley, quinoa, rice; fresh herbs, vegetable stock."
While Chef Brenda Ruiz and our Terra Madre delegates perform soup magic in the kitchen, Terra Madre delegates Ed Roehr, from Magpie, and Sacramento Board Member Chanowk Yisrael, from Yisrael FamilyUrban Farms, will share their photos, experiences, and thoughts from their time at Slow Food International's Terra Madre/Salone del Gusto held last September in Turin.
This is our annual General Membership meeting where we elect Board members.
As always, you are responsible for your own place setting, including silverware, BOWLS, plates, glasses, napkins, in additional to your beverage of choice.

When & Where
Slow Food Sacramento
Slow Food Sacramento is the Sacramento region's convivium, or chapter, of Slow Food USA. We are an active, all-volunteer chapter that hosts a wide range of educational and convivial events throughout the year to introduce you to the producers and creators of some of the region's outstanding foods, farms, and restaurants. You'll meet the leaders who champion locally and sustainably produced vegetables, fruits, wines, meats, and cheeses. You'll become part of a network to improve access to good, clean, and fair food for all in the Sacramento region.
