Right now, approximately 358 children and youth in Tennessee foster care are waiting for adoptive families. Tennessee also has more than 11,000 churches and God has given clear commands for Christians to take care of His orphan children. So if the command is clear and the need is apparent, why are these kids still waiting? Even if you're not called to adopt, we can all do something!
Join Focus on the Family, the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home, the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth as well as church and adoption leaders from around Tennessee on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Brainerd Baptist Church - Brainerd Crossroads. You'll hear more about the kids who are waiting, the process of adoption from foster care and ways you can be involved in supporting adoptive and foster families. In addition, agency and county representatives will be on site to answer questions and help you get started.
Attend this city-wide event and explore what the Lord may be asking you to do. Together the body of Christ can ensure that no children in Tennessee are waiting for someone to call mom or dad.
Focus on the Family is a donor-supported Christian ministry committed to helping families thrive. We believe that every child deserves to know the love of a forever family.
Do I need to be there right at 10:00am or is this a come and go type event?
This is NOT a come and go type of event. Starting right at 10:00am, we'll have several speakers sharing their experiences with adoption from foster care and at 12:00 you'll have the opportunity to speak with adoption agencies and ministry leaders.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please send questions to email@example.com.
Is there childcare?
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide childcare. Children are welcome at the event but please note that our speakers are intentionally honest about the difficult situations and circumstances that kids in foster care face. The content may not be suitable for kids under 13.
Is lunch provided?
Yes, lunch is provided at no cost to attendees.
