Celebrate the holiday season with a tour of the Tennessee Residence featuring "A Storybook Christmas."

About this event

Governor Bill Lee and First Lady Maria Lee invite guests to celebrate their third Christmas at the Tennessee Residence. Holiday tours will be available Friday, Dec. 10 - Sunday, Dec. 12 and Thursday, Dec. 16 - Sunday, Dec. 19.

This year's theme will showcase “A Storybook Christmas” where tour guests will enjoy festive decor throughout the executive residence that will bring classic Christmas stories to life. Families, individuals and groups are welcome to register for a tour of Tennessee's home that is sure to bring all the delight and merriment of the holiday season.

Self-guided tours are available at the Tennessee Residence during the dates and times indicated on the event sign up page. Tour reservations are required.

Want to give back this holiday season?

Governor and First Lady Lee are continuing their Christmas tradition of inviting guests to bring requested items in support of nonprofits across the state. Guests interested in participating in this year's drive are encouraged to donate items from the featured nonprofits' lists provided below. Donated items will be collected at the start of each tour and placed under Christmas trees in Conservation Hall that have been decorated to represent each nonprofit.

Please note: Donations are NOT required to attend. Items should NOT be wrapped, and monetary donations CANNOT be accepted.

West Tennessee

Collected items will benefit at-risk youth in West Tennessee

  • Children’s books

Youth Villages Memphis

Collected items will benefit children in foster care across the state or in residential treatment centers in West Tennessee

  • Individual hygiene kits (toothbrush, body wash, hair accessories, deodorant)
  • Socks and underwear
  • Pajamas, robes (youth to adult sizes)
  • Scarves, gloves, hats
  • Coats and jackets
  • Shoes, Crocs
  • T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, sweatshirts
  • Bed sheets, blankets, pillows (all sizes)
  • Books appropriate for ages 5-18

Collected items will benefit food-insecure individuals and families in East Tennessee

FAQs

Is there an age limit to enter the event?

No; however, guests over the age of 16 are required to bring a valid ID to present at the check-in lot.

Where do I check in on the day of my tour?

Are the tours guided?

The tours are self-guided. Upon entering the home, guests will receive a brochure with information about the home and the decorations which can be used as a guide through the tour. There will also be docents and volunteers stationed throughout the home to provide additional information and answer questions.

How long does the tour last?

We recommend that you allow 60-90 minutes for the check-in process and tour of the Tennessee Residence.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Cameras are allowed on the tour; however, we ask that camera flashes be turned off when taking photographs inside of the home due to the sensitivity of the artwork.

Strollers and wheelchairs will be accommodated at the event. The Tennessee Residence is ADA accessible.

Guests visiting the Tennessee Residence property are prohibited from possessing firearms or weapons of any kind.

Can I update my registration information or change names, timeslots or emails of my registration?

Registration information can be edited by logging into Eventbrite with the email and account information used to sign up for a tour. Go to the "Tickets" page and click "Edit."

Please see this helpful article from Eventbrite for more information on updating registration. We ask that registration information is finalized for tour participants no later than 48 hours prior to the tour reservation. The name of each visitor will be checked by security upon arrival; accurate names will expedite this process.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Printed tickets are not required; reservations are listed by names of guests.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Yes, the tickets are transferrable; however, we please ask that the names under the tour reservation be as accurate as possible. All guests over the age of 16 will have their ID checked by security during the check-in process.

Are restrooms available at the event?

Restrooms WILL NOT be available at the check-in lot. Restrooms WILL be available once you arrive to the Tennessee Residence.

We are excited to resume in-person tours at full capacity. Per state and local guidelines, face masks are optional for visitors and staff.
