t e n d : to take care of someone or something

Who: You. Me. Us. Mental Health Clinicians & Social Workers.

What: A day of tending to the practitioner by the ocean. Expect: journaling, gentle, restorative movement or shape making, personal inquiry, group process and shared conversation.

  • A space to build networks and connect with highly skilled practitioners

  • An experiential approach to deepen professional skills and personal insight

  • Exploration of pertinent issues in the field / resource share

  • Self-reflection, movement & mindfulness resulting in a renewed commitment (and joy!) in the profession

When: Sunday, September 29, 2019. 10 am - 3:30 pm.

------OPTIONAL: Yoga on the beach from 8:45 am - 9:45 am (dress for the weather).

Where: A blissful seaside space tucked away in the Quonset area of North Kingstown. Park at Spink Neck Beach, 1 Patrol Road, North Kingstown, RI. We will meet at big blue building at point (walk away from direction you drove into property on. See image below.).


-A blanket and/or something soft to sit on (pillow, zafu).

-Warm layers (if weather appropriate will spend time outdoors).

-A journal.


- A 5 minute intervention/ skill/ activity or resource to share with the group. This can be something that has helped you develop as a clinician, an intervention from your theoretical background or a way you have creatively connected with clients.

-Yoga mat if you choose to join optional beach yoga practice in morning (845-945 am).

- All parts of yourself & full presence.


Free. The work you do is so important. You are deeply needed in this field.

*please share with colleagues & cohorts (group size will max out due to intimate nature of workshop/retreat)

about: First of many. This retreat is a tendril shooting out from a monthly group supervision held on Ashley's living room floor (first Mondays of month, 6-8 pm). It's their hope we can continue the ongoing embodiment, community and inquiry as clinicians. The ripples created in nurturing self as professionals in this field has the potential to deepen our commitment to the work and positively benefit those we serve.
