Description

The purpose of this learning event is to provide training to staff throughout the unit to understand social rules and develop plans to teach social skills in the school setting as well as in by Advertise"> by Advertise" REL="nofollow"> by Advertise"> by Advertise" class="M3Od85NIF " href="#76078025"> the home and community.  This workshop is designed to engage learners with case studies, modeling and role-playing to assist in discovering new interventions and practical techniques you can use with students immediately.

Learning objectives: *Modify the learning environment to accommodate sensory challenges. *Recognize and accommodate neurological differences in home or classroom settings.  *Distinguish between voluntary behaviors and involuntary behaviors.  *Responsibly utilize alternative and/or conventional medicine.  *Assist individuals in developing their talents into a by Advertise"> by Advertise" REL="nofollow"> by Advertise"> by Advertise" class="M3Od85NIF " href="#97715652"> career path.  *Identify the goals of early intervention.  *Recognize disorders that may mimic ASD.  *Understand how ASD affects socialization.  *Utilize behavior as communication.  *Implement approaches, treatments, and therapies.  *Identify medical/nutritional challenges.  *Apply the 10 unwritten rules of social relationships.  *Tell the difference between situations-based and people-based social rules.
