Event Details

A story can be a powerful way to effect change, but in our fast-paced, wired society, it's hard to make your story stand out.

Join us for this fun, interactive workshop where you will learn effective communication strategies and ways to make your own story compelling enough that policymakers and professionals will listen.

Participants will learn:

  • The Power of Story
  • How to Tell Your Personal Story
  • Effective Communication
  • Meeting Strategies
  • Organizing for Change

Presenter:  Kim Kang is a long-time disability advocate and legislative expert who was the Public Policy and Early Education Director for PACER Center.  In 16 years, she has trained over 800 parents and professionals to be effective public policy disability advocates. She is the author of the widely used PACER Center curriculum, “Working for Change: Using the Power of the Personal Story.”

The Autism Society of Minnesota is proud to be a collaborative partner with the below organizations to offer a limited number of registrations for this event:

Hennepin County Children's Mental Health Collaborative,
