Event description
Learn how to tell your organization's story. Join us for this two-part storytelling workshop plus story slam hosted by expert storytellers.

About this Event

Whether talking to potential donors, volunteers, community partners, or the public, effective storytelling is an essential part of the nonprofit professional's toolbox to bring attention to the work that our organizations are doing in the community.

Join us for this two-part workshop, hosted by expert storytellers Jen Rubin (Storyteller and producer of the Moth Madison) and Takeyla Benton (Storyteller from Listen to Your Mother). Then, join us for the Madison Moth Story Slam for a chance to see other Madison-area storytellers--or maybe even be chosen tell your own story!

In the workshops, Benton and Rubin will detail elements of a good story, including developing an effective narrative arc and establishing an early "hook" to grab the audience's attention. With each new layer of information, the stakes rise and rise to build anticipation for the main event.
