In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, SCC will host a screening of the short documentary, Below the Fold. The film chronicles the efforts of a team of reporters from the Los Angeles Times who banded together in 1983 to counter distorted reportage about Hispanics to deliver a Pulitzer Prize-winning series on Southern California’s Latino communities.

The screening will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with the film’s director, SCC faculty member Roberto Gudino, and Frank Sotomayor one of the featured journalists.

Reception 6 p.m. | Screening 6:30 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public. Food and light refreshments will be provided.
