About Tell Your Story Intensive:

Storytelling is the new marketing. It is the tried-and-true way to monetize your message, product or brand. As an entrepreneur or professional your story is not just about your past. Whether securing your dream job, pitching for funding or selling to new clients, if harnessed, your story can be the blueprint for your business and professional success. In this intensive, you will see firsthand how the power of telling one's story can be leveraged for purposes that include consulting/job opportunities, sales/marketing, and fundraising/grant opportunities.

You will learn these three key aspects of storytelling:

  • MODULE 1 – How to tell your personal storyWhether pitching for funding, interviewing for jobs, or launching a consulting business, the ability to articulate one’s unique story makes all the difference. Participants will explore influential personal storytelling techniques and learn how to activate their network for targeted opportunities. Participants will go through a step-by-step process of building their personal brands and will learn how to use the power of telling one’s personal story to create multiple streams of income, influence, and impact.
  • MODULE 2 – How to tell your professional story – Are you multi-talented and conflicted or are you already established but find it challenging to build your professional brand? In this module, you will learn how to tell your professional story in a way that captures the multiple facets of what you do. You will learn to use your professional story to manifest your deep-seated professional goals and aspirations. Participants will also uncover how to distill their vast professional experience into products and services and distribute these across their existing social, professional and online networks.
  • MODULE 3 – How to tell your brand story – People don’t buy what you sell, they buy the story you sell. Whether you are raising investment capital, scaling an existing business, selling to new clients or expanding to a new market, if harnessed, your story can be your greatest financial resource. In this session, you will see firsthand how the power of telling one's story can be leveraged to activate a community of investors, clients and brand evangelists for your business or nonprofit organization.

According to The Foundation Center HQ New York:

"Gbenga led a brilliant, dexterous presentation at Foundation Center's NYC headquarters on the use of storytelling for accessing funding and professional opportunities. His lively session was tremendously well-received by our audience of New York nonprofits and social enterprises; participants responded that they discovered a newfound confidence and a better grasp of how to steer their own personal story into a compelling, forward-looking tale that truly connects with potential funders, employers, and clients. Gbenga did an outstanding job of inspiring a room full of people to present themselves and their organizations to the world with greater confidence and leadership."
