Join PBS SoCal, Firelight Media, and Independent Lens for a special screening of Tell Them We Are Rising - The Story of Black Colleges and Universities.

Doors Open: 7:00 PM

Screening & Discussion: 7:30 PM

This free, public event will feature a film screening and panel discussion with:

Arrive early to hear selections from the young musicians of the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles!

Please note, this event will be overbooked to ensure capacity.


Parking and Arrival:

FREE parking will be available in the LA Center Studios parking structure, located at 450 S. Bixel Street, Los Angeles.

If you are arriving by car service, drop off, etc., please use 451 S. Beaudry Avenue, Los Angeles.

Event check-in will be located in the Beaudry Building lobby.


About the film: Directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Stanley Nelson, Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities examines the impact Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have had on American history, culture, and national identity.
