Workshop 1, May 15

The Journey of Dementia: Understanding Progression and How to Modify Support, Care, and Environments

2 sessions

This overview covers the progression of dementia and behaviors which affect care partnering and daily activities. Through increased awareness, knowledge, and skills, participants will learn to create a positive environment for those with dementia.


Workshop 2, May 16

Improving Care in Crisis and Transitions

2 sessions

Hospital emergency room staff, community first responders, and professional care partners interact often with older adults in crisis. Participants will learn to recognize the symptoms of those with dementia, and how to provide more effective responses to reduce stress.


Workshop 3, May 17

Making Visits Valuable

1 session

This workshop is intended for anyone who spends time with someone who has dementia. With increased awareness and knowledge, participants will build interaction skills so time spent together is beneficial and positive.


Eating and Nutritional Issues in Dementia Care

1 session

Dementia affects diet and eating. Caregivers will learn to identify concerns and ways to intervene to promote safe and effective mealtimes at each stage of the journey.
