When & Where
SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young (Formerly Our Time)
Our Time has undergone a strategic re-branding process to more accurately reflect and communicate our institutional identity to the public. Founded in New York City in 2001, our mission has always been to empower youth who stutter to find their beautiful, unique voices through the transformative power of the arts. After 12 successive years of growth, we are poised to serve more children on a broader national level. To expand our reach and build greater awareness about the full scope of our programs, we seek to magnify our image, heighten name recognition and enhance organizational impact by changing our name to SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young.
Grounded in this new identity, SAY: will continue to encourage youth who stutter to say what is in their hearts and minds, and to tell stories that they want the world to hear. SAY is here to encourage and ensure that kids who stutter can say the things that should not go unsaid, and for the world to listen.
SAY (formerly Our Time) is a non-profit organization that uses the arts to improve the confidence and communication skills of children who stutter. Through a local New York City-based program and a summer camp open to children from around the nation and abroad, SAY helps young people transform their fear and shame from stuttering into confidence and determination to reach their fullest potential. SAY participants gain enriching friendships and experience tangible success, giving them the confidence to overcome the challenges presented by stuttering.
SAY serves children who stutter, their young family members and friends, ages 5 to 18, from a wide diversity of backgrounds. The company is committed to offering financial aid for its NYC programming, speech therapy and its national program, Camp SAY.
